Our History

Established over 15 years ago, K J Quinn Services Ltd are one of Wiltshire’s most experienced building services companies. We enjoy a reputation for innovation, technical excellence and operational flexibility. Our services encompass a range of disciplines that few if any other m&e companies can match, especially in the Wiltshire and Hampshire regions.

Supporting everything we do is a project management team and office team that works to the very highest standards.


Our base is a modern office located in Amesbury, Wiltshire. This building houses both our project management and administrative people as well as our engineers, when they’re not on the road servicing our client’s facilities. Our office is just off the A303, which means we can reach our clients locations rapidly should the need arise.

We work with a large range of clients in a variety of sectors, from commercial, through industrial to domestic. Although we do have specific experience and competencies working with defence sector clients. We undertake the design, supply, installation and maintenance of m&e solutions. We also frequently act as a main contractor, in which capacity we can handle every aspect of the construction process including building fabric and associated services.

Our Growth

Kris Quinn began his electrical training in 1996. By 2002 he had gained valuable experience and became a lead member of construction teams within a range of M&E projects. Kris specialised in electrical testing and inspection during his time working for a local electrical company.

Kris started out as a sole trader in 2003 and after establishing a good reputation as a reliable local tradesman he became a limited company in 2005. Taking on his brother Adam as an apprentice, the company began its journey as a family run business. What followed was a period of rapid growth and the business went from strength to strength. A lot of the incoming work was for contract work at some of the UK’s leading MoD establishments in the local surrounding area. This gave Quinn’s the opportunity to grow and offer a range of maintenance services including reactive, planned and installation work. The brothers heavily invested in additional training and specialist qualifications to allow them to work in the unique areas on the local MoD sites.

Quinns has reaped the rewards of it’s focus on investment in employees with its own trainees Darren Conn and Daniel Winters climbing the ladder to become key members within the team. Darren is now an Electrical Contracts Manager qualified to work in hazardous areas with CompEx. Daniel is our Operations Manager who has gained extensive knowledge and qualifications to be able to manage our fire safety systems work and gain our BAFE accreditations.

The business continued to grow and in 2015 the mechanical division was created. Spearheaded by experienced plumbing and gas safe registered engineer Derek Barclay, the mechanical division became a highly successful part of the business. This also gave Quinn’s the knowledge to offer a range of M&E services and joint installation work so our customers know they can come to us for all their needs without needing to employ a separate contractor to complete the job.

The team has now grown to over 20 people between the office staff and engineers. We have 2 experienced electrical contracts managers, both hold ECS Technician Standard grading to 18thEdition and can provide quotations from small projects up to large value commercial and industrial contracts.

With health and safety becoming a big focus for our customers, the team agreed further investment with an in-house IOSHTech Stuart Jackson to manage all aspects of health and safety. We deliver in-house training and ensure all staff are up to date with current regulations and standards. We are a CHAS accredited contractor and all our work is covered by comprehensive risk assessments and method statements written by our experienced H&S manager. We operate with a keen awareness of the importance of health and safety for our clients and always strive to keep this as a top priority whilst completing projects on time and to the highest standards.

Throughout his tenure as managing director, Kris has always been keen to invest in the workforce and employs several apprentices, providing them with valuable knowledge and skills from the more experienced workforce. As the business has grown, the services offered have expanded with it. Quinn’s now offers a full design service on projects up to a value of £1million.
